I had so much fun coming up with concepts for this team.

The challenge for citify's clients was that each city publishes reams of valuable information on their websites, but every city does it differently. For regulated industries, journalists, vendors and anyone with business or issues at City Hall, keeping up with all the new info being posted on city websites is a time-consuming and expensive challenge. We needed a family of logos that scaled to each city, remained consistent across all applications, and could easily translate into their app interface.

Project scope included: Company Name Creation, Logo System, Color Palette Creation, Brand Manual/Style Guide.

Our challenge was to take National Instrument's corporate brochure and turn it into an interactive touchscreen. In partnership with Blue Pony's talented developers, we succeeded in creating an experience that our sales team could use to collect leads and launch conversations.

The application displays a hypothetical city, connected by the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT). It displays nine touchpoints where the user can learn more about how NI's integrated hardware and software platforms power systems that are integral to daily life.

When members of the community approached me about creating a brand for my local community food forest, I was honored. The goal was to create something that displayed their mission to cultivate community growth and empowerment while increasing access to healthy food.

The brand included the logo, color palette, and the overall idea of including illustrations of food as their supporting graphic treatment.

I was humbled to learn that afterward they had a life size sculpture of the logo made, which can be seen at the food forest, 25-1/2 Waller Street, Austin, Texas 78702.

The Houston Clean Air Network is a collaboration between local non-profits, businesses, researchers, and government agencies who share the goal of protecting public health from air pollution. CAN members are working together to reduce emissions by providing tools for understanding Houston’s air pollution challenges.

The challenge was to collect data from over 40 TCEQ weather towers across Houston and turn it into real-time ozone cloud animations so that local residents can determine the air quality at any given time and location in Houston.

The teamwork that went into programming this project was phenomenal! We worked closely with Significode, specifically Bart Clarkson, whose technical expertise and analytical decision-making were key components to creating successful end product. Between Significode and the web developers from the University of Houston’s Texas Learning & Computation Center & Honors College, we were able to deploy a highly interactive map that provides ozone levels to the general public in much the same way that a radar map displays local weather.

It was a pleasure to work with the partners of McFarland Law to make their vision come to life. In order to modernize their brand, we wanted to create something elegant, timeless, and simple. Their brand package included the design of the logo mark, copywriting, photography sourcing, headshots of employees, icon design, website design and development, marketing collateral, SEO, and style guide development.

I led cross-functional team of 10 visual and UX designers through a 12-month software rebrand culminating in a new flagship software brand and a portfolio suite of over 50 products. Brand touch points span from point of sale through user interface (including, logos, application icons, packaging, user interface screens, photoshoots, and advertising) – Brand Launch, May 2017

We had a blast working with this team to come up with a concept for a local vacation grocery delivery business. Identity package included logo set, color palette, and typography.

When NI decided to combine their software offerings for each industry under three different license types, I needed to find a packaging solution that could scale down into the software itself. Prototyping played a pivotal role in the development process, allowing me to iterate rapidly and refine my ideas based on user feedback. Multiple cross functional teams, including packaging, user-interface, e-commerce, software engineering, and product managers provided input into the solutions that were presented to NI stakeholders.

The AsthmaFiles is designed to be an electronic archive of text, still images, video and audio that illustrate multiple perspectives on asthma—from the vantage point of affected people in different locales and communities, heath care providers, and scientists from many different disciplines.

The challenge was to create wireframes and design mockups to clearly and effectively communicate information and cross reference it across the site.

The goal was to provide a platform that enables collaboration among content contributors and users with a wide-range of backgrounds, expertise and values.

The end result is a robust informational architecture that divides data into the following categories and labels them using differentiating icons: Communicating asthma, Caring forasthma, asthma in Society, Living with asthmaand Causes of asthma. Each content area is “owned” by a designated author. Each author can create conversations (articles), invite guest posts, approve comments, etc. 

The client is currently seeking funding to develop the site.

Bayou Voices is designed to connect sustainable Houston communities in the Third Ward & Southeast Houston. Building their identity and web design mockups was a fun and inspirational project. The collaboration and amazing woman behind it are poised to make a lasting difference and I was honored to be a part of their design process. I look forward to following their progress as they infuse their communities with art, education, architecture, design to document Houston’s history and environment. Their site is scheduled to be live this month—check back soon to get taste of what Houston has to offer.

NIWeek is an annual 7-day event in Austin, TX that highlights industry trends and thought leadership in science and engineering. Through keynotes, training sessions, and fun interactive demos, NIWeek’s 3500+ attendees learn how the future of engineering will touch and improve our everyday lives.

NI takes over the Austin Convention Center and turns it into engineering central. The experience design encompassed the entire event – everything from keynote slide design, an expo floor with interactive booths and activities, to the technical support documents for the hands-on training sessions. The entire space was re-imagined to echo NI's bold corporate color palette and a set of 120 icons was created to represent the theme of the "Internet of Things."

Other highlights included,

- Over 1,500 slides created for four 2-hour keynotes
- 120 custom icons created for event look and feel
- Directional and environmental signage
- Print collateral and pre-event marketing materials
- Keynote preroll videos (3D CG) and case study videos (testimonials)
